Nova legislação afeta diretamente o tradicional evento Budapest Pride e é vista como retrocesso nos direitos civis da comunidade LGBTQ+

O Parlamento húngaro aprovou nesta segunda-feira (14) uma polêmica emenda à constituição que proíbe eventos públicos ligados à comunidade LGBTQ+, incluindo o popular Budapest Pride, que anualmente atrai milhares de pessoas à capital. A decisão, tomada por 140 votos a favor e 21 contra, foi liderada pelo partido governista Fidesz, do primeiro-ministro Viktor Orbán.
A nova legislação permite ao governo vetar manifestações que “promovam ou representem a homossexualidade”, sob o argumento de proteger o desenvolvimento moral e físico de crianças. Organizações de direitos humanos, lideranças da sociedade civil e opositores políticos classificaram a medida como autoritária e discriminatória.
Além da proibição de eventos, a emenda inclui o uso de reconhecimento facial pelas autoridades para identificar participantes dessas manifestações, prevendo multas de até 200 mil forints húngaros (cerca de €500). Também ficou estabelecida a definição constitucional dos sexos apenas como masculino e feminino, excluindo o reconhecimento de pessoas transgênero e intersexo.
Em resposta imediata, milhares de manifestantes tomaram as ruas de Budapeste. “Estamos testemunhando o avanço de um autoritarismo que finge proteger crianças, mas na verdade silencia minorias”, afirmou Anna Varga, ativista do coletivo Húngaro pela Igualdade.
A medida gerou preocupação internacional. A Comissão Europeia, além de diversas embaixadas da União Europeia, emitiram declarações criticando a legislação e cobrando respeito aos direitos fundamentais. A emenda é vista como mais um passo na consolidação do poder do Fidesz, que já alterou a constituição 15 vezes desde que a reescreveu em 2011.
Apesar da proibição, os organizadores do Budapest Pride anunciaram que manterão a edição de 2025, prevista para o dia 28 de junho, marcando os 30 anos da parada. Em nota, o coletivo afirmou: “Esta lei é fascismo disfarçado de proteção infantil. Continuaremos a lutar pela liberdade, visibilidade e dignidade da comunidade LGBTQ+.”
A emenda constitucional entra em vigor imediatamente, ampliando a tensão entre o governo húngaro e organismos internacionais preocupados com o retrocesso nas garantias democráticas no país.
