STF DECIDE REABRIR INVESTIGAÇÃO CONTRA WALDEMAR DA COSTA NETO NO CASO DA TENTATIVA DE GOLPE

Os ministros da Primeira Turma do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) decidiram, nesta terça-feira (21/10), reabrir uma investigação contra o presidente do Partido Liberal (PL), Valdemar Costa Neto.
Por 4 votos a 1, a Turma acompanhou o voto do relator, ministro Alexandre de Moraes, e determinou o reenvio do caso à Procuradoria-Geral da República (PGR), que vai retomar as apurações.
Valdemar havia escapado da denúncia apresentada pelo procurador-geral da República, Paulo Gonet, mas foi indiciado pela Polícia Federal (PF) no inquérito que apura a tentativa de golpe de Estado. Com a decisão, ele passa a ser investigado pelos crimes de organização criminosa e tentativa de abolição violenta do Estado Democrático de Direito.
No voto, Moraes destacou que a reabertura da investigação estava condicionada à eventual condenação de Carlos Cesar Moretzsohn Rocha, engenheiro e presidente da empresa Voto Legal — Rocha acabou sendo condenado a 7 anos e 6 meses.
Moraes considerou, no voto, que o relatório elaborado a pedido do PL, partido de Valdemar e Bolsonaro, para apontar supostas falhas nas urnas eletrônicas, é “uma das coisas mais bizarras que a Justiça Eleitoral” recebeu desde a sua criação.
