Em editorial publicado nesse domingo (6), o jornal porta-voz do Partido Comunista Chinês (PCCh) – o Diário do Povo – disse que a China está preparada para a guerra de tarifas de Donald Trump e que o “céu não cairá” devido às novas barreiras comerciais.
“Devemos transformar pressão em motivação e encarar a resposta ao impacto dos EUA como uma oportunidade estratégica para acelerar a construção de um novo padrão de desenvolvimento”, afirmou o editorial do principal jornal do PCCh.
O Diário do Povo citou ainda a frase do presidente da China, Xi Jinping, sobre a resiliência do mercado chinês, que pode suportar ventos fortes e tempestades.
“A economia chinesa é um oceano, não um pequeno lago. Tempestades podem virar um pequeno lago, mas não podem virar o oceano”, disse o mandatário chinês citado pelo jornal.
Nessa segunda-feira (7), Trump ameaçou a China com tarifas adicionais de 50% caso Pequim não recue da decisão de impor tarifas recíprocas à Washington.
O jornal reconhece que as tarifas anunciadas pelos Estados Unidos contra a China vão prejudicar o comércio entre as duas maiores potências do planeta.
“Terá inevitavelmente um impacto negativo nas exportações da China no curto prazo e aumentará a pressão sobre a economia”, disse.
